The Avengers - Movie Review

The highly anticipated superhero movie of the summer is here, The Avengers, which draws together all of Marvel's superheros that were featured in their own movies in the past few years - Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (Chris Evans) and The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), along with Black Widow (Scarlet Johansson) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner). S.H.I.E.L.D. director, Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), brings together this group of heroes when Loki (Tom Kiddleston), Thor's brother, gains possession of the tesseract, a cube that provides unlimited sustainable energy and can also open a portal between worlds. Loki sends an army of aliens to take over earth. The heros form The Avengers, and only together, they can defeat Loki.

The Avengers is jam-packed with action and has plenty of amazing special effects. There is a lot going on, especially with so many characters, but the scenes move along, never dwelling too long on a character, but long enough for you to get a sense of who each character is. The cast worked together great and it's such a fun movie to watch - it's definitely a must see for the summer! I watched it in 3D, but I don't think you need to to appreciate this movie. Make sure you stay until the end of the credits, as there is an extra scene at the very end, just like all the other Marvel movies in the past.

The Avengers comes out everywhere in theaters today.

Make sure to enter the contest I am hosting to win The Avengers prize pack! There is over a week left.
