#PalkiPassion @ Palki

I used up another VANEATS dining voucher tonight - $14 for seven items at Palki, an Indian restaurant on Commercial Drive.

It's a nice little restaurant, with the tables spaciously spread apart.
The backstory of the word "Palki".
Very cool fountain in the corner added to the ambiance of the restaurant.

You had the option of very mild, mild or hot for the spice level. Being a weakling, I opted for very mild. t took quite a long wait for the dishes to come out and I was starting to get really hungry but they came out all together. The server was very nice and polite, so that sort of made up for it!

Vegetable samosa, lamb barrah kebob, chicken tikka, tandoori prawn and murg malai tikka.
The main dishes came out sizzling hot. Aside from the vegetable samosa, it's all meats sitting on top of shredded cabbage, with a few yellow bell pepper slices. Even at very mild, the spices made me sweat a bit! The samosa was very good. The lamb was very well cooked - only the faintest taste/smell of lamb that people complain about. The chicken was also very tasty!

Butter chicken - one of their signature dishes.
The butter chicken came with a candle underneath to keep the dish warm. Very rich and slightly spicy, the butter chicken did not disappoint. I poured some of the sauce onto my other meats and mopped it up with the naan.

Naan with onion and cilantro on top.
I actually really love naan bread and the onion and cilantro on top just made it that much tastier! The naan was ginormous, so there is plenty of bread to soak up the delicious butter chicken sauce!

Once again, it was a lovely meal. Visit VANEATS.ca to purchase your own Palki Passion dining pass for only $14! There are only 14 passes left and you have until June 11th to use it. While you're there, make sure to sign up for the VANEATS newsletter so you never miss out on new dining packages!
