The Muppets Blu-Ray Combo Pack - DVD Review

The Muppets are back on the big screen after 12 years and now the movie is out on DVD and Blu-ray today!
Here’s the synopsis:
On vacation in Los Angeles, Walter, the world’s biggest Muppet fan, his brother Gary (Jason Segel) and Gary’s girlfriend, Mary (Amy Adams), from Smalltown, USA, discover the nefarious plan of oilman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to raze Muppet Studios and drill for the oil recently discovered beneath the Muppets’ former stomping grounds. To stage a telethon and raise the $10 million needed to save the studio, Walter, Mary and Gary help Kermit reunite the Muppets, who have allgone their separate ways: Fozzie now performs with a Reno casino tribute band called the Moopets, Miss Piggy is a plus-size fashion editor at Vogue Paris, Animal is in a Santa Barbara clinic for anger management, and Gonzo is a high-powered plumbing magnate.
I watched this in theatres when it came out in November and again this week and as a fan of The Muppets (I have all 3 seasons of The Muppet Show on DVD), I could not have asked for a better Muppet movie! There were tons of cheesy but funny jokes, great cameos by many celebrities, including Whoopi Goldberg, Sarah Silverman, Jack Black, Neil Patrick Harris, Selena Gomez and more. Jason Segel and Amy Adams were perfect for their roles alongside The Muppets. The songs were great too, including the Oscar winning song, Man or Muppet. One of my favorite songs from the movie was Chris Cooper’s rap when his character, Tex Richman, was telling Kermit and the gang no. The Muppets is an all-around fun movie to watch with your friends or with your family!
The DVD and Blu-Ray combo pack, as well as The Wocka Wocka Value Pack which includes a download of the soundtrack, are out in stores today, March 20th. The special features on the Blu-ray include:
- A hilarious blooper reel
- Deleted scenes
- A history of The Muppets
- Audio Commentary with Jason Segel, James Bobin and Nicholas Stroller
- Unreleased Theatrical spoof trailers
- And more!
I think it’s definitely worth it to get the Blu-ray combo pack because the special features are hilarious! Disney is offering a coupon for $5 off the Wocka Wocka Value Pack which you can print off . Also don’t forget I have a contest for The Muppets Blu-ray combo pack running until the end of the week so go enter that for your chance to win your very own copy!
