Fright Night - Movie Review
Fright Night is the latest 3D horror film coming to theatres this year, a remake of the 1985 movie of the same name. High school student Charley Brewster (Anton Yelchin) thinks his new neighbor, Jerry (Colin Farrell) is a vampire after several students in his class start disappearing. He decides to investigate and breaks into Jerry's house. Desperate to kill off Jerry and stop him from hurting anyone else, Charley goes to Peter Vincent (David Tennant), the famous vampire expert on the Las Vegas strip.
The plot is quite predictable, and makes for a slightly entertaining horror movie. While I'm not really a fan of watching horror films on the big screen, I didn't think this one was too bad. The 3D effects were terrible though. Everything was so dark and blurry, it was so terrible and you leave the theatre with strained eyes. Colin Farrell makes a pretty creepy vampire, though when the characters actually turn into vampires, it's pretty ugly. I say save your money (and your eyes) and just watch this in 2D. This is a good little thriller for fans of the original Fright Night movie.
Fright Night comes out in theatres this Friday, August 19th.
