The Three Musketeers - Movie Review

The three Musketeers, Athos (Matthew Macfadyen), Porthos (Ray Stevenson) and Aramis (Luke Evans) are in Venice to steal blueprints of an airship made by Leonardo Da Vinci, along with the help of Athos' lover, Milady de Winter (Milla Jovovich). However, when Milady betrays them and gives the blueprints to the Duke of Buckingham (Olando Bloom), the Musketeers are disbanded by Cardinal Richelieu (Christoph Waltz) when they return to France. A year later, D'Artagnan (Logan Lerman) heads to France to become a Musketeer just like his father was, only to find out they no longer exist. When a plot is discovered to start a war with England, the three musketeers are brought back together, along with D'Artagnan, to bring it to a halt.

I really enjoyed The Three Musketeers. There were extravagant sets and costumes, there are some witty banter and over-the-top acting that makes it a really fun and light movie. There are plenty of explosions and fancy sword-fights. Plus the characters are really likable. The ending of the film sets up the movie up for a sequel, and I cannot wait! I don't think the 3D adds to anything in the movie, so save your money and just watch it in 2D. The Three Musketeers comes out in theatres October 21.
